[Dailydrool] Drool for Humphrey

Hi Everyone,
 
I am normally a lurker but would really like your help.
Humphrey my heart dog is undergoing tests this morning to see what he has done to his back.
He suddenly went down in the rear yesterday and has since deteriorated rapidly. He was at the hospital overnight for observation and
we just received a phone call to say that the surgeon recommends doing a lumber punch and injecting dye to see what exactly the problem is.
The surgeon suspects it's a slipped disc and recommends operating immediately.
 
Can i please get some advice if this is the right thing to do?And also some drool please.
His dad and I are absolutely distraught.
