Now that Jane is on lasix, we seem to have another peeing problem. Today I went to take the plastic off her bed and discovered that even though it seemed intact, somehow pee had gotten in and destroyed the bed. So I need to get another bed as soon as possible, since we have a foster coming soon. Heaven forfend that we have less than six beds, one for each dog in the living room and another three in the bedroom! 
 
So I am looking for a new, completely washable bed, preferably a donut bed, in a size that would fit a 52-lb basset. I've looked online and found a bunch of them, many at ridiculous prices. Years ago I found such a bed in our pet store, on sale. It is lovely, and the hounds all adore it. But rarely will they share beds, especially since two of the dogs are or will be new to the house.
 
I have an old washer that I will not trade in for a new one, because I've been told that if I put my dog beds into a new one, I'd destroy it in no time. I'm just hoping that the new bed will fit in my washer.
 
Any ideas?
