[Dailydrool] ramp

Wow,  I guess we were lucky.  My hubby made a ramp for our front steps several months ago and HBeaudreux climbed straight up it without a bit of hesitation. We were just thrilled since he was the reason the ramp was made in the first place. He seemed to understand that it would make his life easier and he  hasn't stepped up unaided since  the ramp has been in place.  Olive will use the ramp when the mood strikes her but Ginny didn't want anything to do with it for about four months.  She finally tried the ramp  a few weeks ago without freaking out but she usually just walks walk around it. To keep the ramp from being too slick we put some "grip tape" on it and place an area rug over that.  It gives traction to keep them from sliding and if the grip tape loses its grip we just peel it off and put on new tape.

We've had a car/truck ramp for as long as we had HBeaudreux. He was never agile enough to climb up into the truck with out help and he is way too big to lift without hurting someone. When the ramp is up on the truck it is pretty steep so we have to give both Ginny and HB a "rear boost"  to help defy gravity but they gladly climb up because they know we are going someplace fun.
