[Dailydrool] ticks

This past weekend, I took my basset babe Lucy and my boxer boy Apollo to
my sister's for my nephew's b-day and our annual first day of trout
fishing extravaganza.  We battled ticks ALL WEEKEND.  Granted, she lives
in a very woodsy area by Johnstown, PA.  But in all the years, I've
never seen a single tick at her house ever - even after taking the dogs
for walks in the woods.  This past weekend, all we had to do was step
outside her house and we were finding them on the dogs and us.  UGH.  I
felt like we were those packs of monkeys you see on TV that sit around
eachother and pick the bugs out of their hair.  Lol.  But these ticks
were weird - they were black and very tiny.  I have not googled them
yet.  I was just finally able to go to sleep last night without doing
the heebee geebee itchy scratchy thing all night.  

Anyway, I have been seeing lots of people talking about ticks, and
hearing that this year is suppose to be horrible for ticks and other
bugs because of the mild winter we had.  I haven't seen or had any
problems where I live YET (Pittsburgh).  But after this weekend, I have
a bad feeling about bugs in general this year.  This will be the
earliest I've ever had to treat the animals for fleas/ticks...heck I
wish I could treat myself just to avoid it.
