[Dailydrool] : Fly eating Bassets, bee eating Bassets, Raleigh NC Bassets, thanks

Hey everyone--been lurking for months but had to  comment on these four issues.  I'm with CBHR and live in Pittsboro NC.  I want to thank Droolers again for voting for us last January.  Our personal first Basset was from Missouri some  40 years ago.,  I'm voting at least twice a day for Western Missouri.  get a daily email reminder  to vote each day.  Didn't know about that option til recently.  So easy to vote -Basset in the left box, MO as the state--two come up, pick the second one and vote.  Takes 30 seconds max.
We currently have a CBHR male who tries to catch flies inside the house--don't have a doggie door so porch door is often open.  Our first Basset, Sunshine, tried to eat bees in the mint growing at my Mom's back door--they stung her and her lips swelled up something fierce- had to get her to the vet quickly.  My husband was in Boot Camp for the National Guard--I remember this well as her various trips to the vet cost us more in 1969 than my husband's Army pay. LOL
For those of you in the Raleigh area and surrounding counties, you can get good exposure for your rescue or your dog by applying  to be in the 2013 Most  Adorable Pet contest  on facebook.  We did it last year and our Miss Ellie  won a slot and was Miss May 2011.  Email me off post if you want more details.
Droolers Rock!!  Elder Clara has helped numerous folks at CBHR deal with their pet loss. Have recommended the Drool to several that had lost a furbaby.  We have a pet loss support group called H.O.W.L  [helping others with loss]--we have a little service on the beach at our December Waddle in Charleston.  Since we've been around so long, we had thirty five Basset deaths in 2011.  Thanks for listening to my twice a year posts.
