Uh Oh Dale,
    It sounds like are officially hooked!!!!  There will be no stopping  you now!  You will never have a drool free house or a hairless couch.   No more undisturbed phone calls--no more phone calls without Basset background noise--EVER!  You will never have an object or person in your home that remains unsniffed.  No visitor will ever go unlicked or unaccosted by overwhelming but noisy affection.  You will never stop buying the "perfect" snack or toy whenever you were really only shopping for the family.  Other crazy Basset people you don't even know will start approaching you where ever you go innately sensing that you too have the same disease.  You will stop questioning why the Bassets get the best spot on the couch and bed while you are barely clinging to the piece of furniture for dear life.  You will never fully straighten out your legs again in your own bed and your children's beds will always smell Bassety!
