[Dailydrool] I have a snapper too

Owen is a snapper, which is why we have him by default (he came back 3 times
from failed adoptions). His trigger is also sleeping. If he is sleeping and
you wake him up suddenly he will growl and snap. Same solution: he sleeps in
a crate. If he is not awake when we need to leave for work in the morning,
we open the door and throw a few peanuts in the crate. Once he is awake and
out of the crate he is fine. He is also food possessive, so we feed him in a
crate and make sure that all uneaten food from the other dogs is picked up
and put away before letting him out. Avoiding his triggers has solved the
problem. If I'm lazy and don't pick up all of the food before letting him
out after I eat, I usually have a dog fight on my hands, but then that is my
fault for putting Owen in a situation that I know he does not handle well.

Sandi and the thundering herd: Hercules, Emily Lou, Chloey Sue, Daisy Mae,
Owen (all BH rescues) and the non bassets: Havoc, Cooter, Bodacious and
Maggie
