You do not say how old the dog is. I would have a full blood panel done if
the Vet can do that.
It always amazes me how the theories of doctors and Veterinarians changes
from locale to locale. You would that a dog's system would be pretty much
the same in Chicago as it is in Greece. It doesn't make them bad
Veterinarians, just a different culture.
