Hi all, it's the clueless momPerson,
I remember very well that Snoopy came home smelling of the dog pound and we
couldn't give him a bath for a week because they had just then neutered him.
So, that was a smelly first week. I was concerned about Cyrus and his reaction
to that smell as he came from the same place and the behavioralist they had
there recommended that I wipe Snoopy down with unscented baby wipes. It helped
a lot that first week.
After that first week we gave him his first bath and that helped too .... but
after a couple of days he smelled like wet cigars. Now remember folks, we'd
never ever had a hound before and we had heard of something called "houndy
smell" so we thought ... oh oh ... and we gave him a bath like twice a week for
a while. Somewhere along the way that smell has gone away and I don't remember
when, I didn't remember it at all until Debbie mentioned Bessie and her smell.
Snoopy was sick .... and he must have been scared .... and he didn't smell good
that's for sure but bathing twice a week plus the baby wipes worked and
somewhere along the line he got healthy and decided to stay and some time after
that it went away.
So, as usual, I'm clueless but if there is anything useful in any of that then
go for it.
--Dale ... with Snoopy asleep next to her in the reading chair and Natalie just
sniffed him and says he smells like ear cleaning solution .... poor baby ....
yesterday was bath and ear day and it lingers .... we still bathe him weekly ...
that's ok right??
