Ahh the blanket. Sister Daisy is my blanket girl and Bess is not far behind. Daisy was sent a quilt as a replacement for the one Bess destroyed, well Daisy has adopted her new quilt with all her body shall we say. She loves it and may the rest of the gang know it is off limits--Daisy gets covered up every night and she just sighs with contentment. Bess has a nice pink blankee also a gift when she first arrived that she curls up with ever night. Daisy is the only one that is allowed to sleep out of a crate, everyone else has private quarters shall we say. The boyz all have wonderful fleece blankets in the crates but for what ever reason, they both pile them up off the dog beds.

Jake is my problem child when it comes to the vet visit, he is a big boy that I love with all my heart, but he is a trial. Jake gets calming meds well before the visit, and we wait in the car and have them come out and get us and Jake wears a muzzle when I take him in. Jake is not one for all the coming and going of the front office and he can be a fear biter, and he also feels the need to protect me to the end. I also make them take Jake away from me into another room. We have tried the standard Doc in the room with all of us and Jake just snarles horrible. The last time they took him, done the deal and brought him into the room, and I said uhhhh--where is his muzzle?? She said oh I just took it off. Gulp----I just calmly led him out the back door and into the car. I know I am overly protective, but, this seems to help Jake and keeps everyone safe. There is alot of muscle in Jake and I have worked so hard to help him get over some of his issues, we all hate the muzzle, but I do what I have to do. Brudder Elwood at the vet--is like Mr Studly on the loose, all show and go-unless you look at the toebones. He has to be fully sedated to have them chopped. Sister Daisy--ahhh DOg love her, is a dream at the vet. Bessie--well she also gets sedated as Bess on a leash is not good, she snarls, because she cant get away, her defense of everything. Bess I dont think would ever bite, she is just too mild.
Composure is what I use to help the calm down, alot of the droolers also use this for thunderstorms. Pretty good stuff, but needs to be given well in advance.Availble on line and also Doc sells it.

Drool to all in need----
