[Dailydrool] new virulent form of distemper

I think there is now a new more virulent form of distemper out there.  Three years ago, I had taken my 10 year old Newf girl to the vet to have a lump on her eyelid checked out.  Within 2 weeks, two of her sister started sneezing, not eating, and had horrific green eye discharge.  My vet confirmed distemper and treated them conventionally with IVs and antibiotics--basically supportive therapy-- both ended up becoming paralyzed and dying from brain swelling.  When a third dog came down with the same symptoms, I called my holistic vet and decided to try alternative treatment.  Ruby, who was 7 at the time, had the no eating symptom, sneezing, and the horrific green eye discharge and I knew where this was headed.  My holistic vet treated the whole gang and Ruby with Distemperium-a homeopathic nosode/killed version of the virus.  Ruby recovered rapidly and no other dog became ill.  I must tell you that these three infected girls were older and all
had been vaccinated for years.  I had/have dogs ranging in age from 2 years to 10 years.  It only attacked the older dogs and only the females.  I am not sure if this is significant or not.  Violet, who originally went to the vets and had to have brought the virus home to one and all never contacted it herself.  I know many will poo poo the holistic vet's treatment but I can tell you that conventional medicine was unable to save my girls but my girl treated by my holistic vet recovered fully and rapidly.
