[Dailydrool] Another lost hound

This journalist is pretty naive, writing, "The dog wandered 1,000 miles away from Fort Hood, Texas." On those short little legs? Weighing what she did? She somehow traveled a thousand miles all on her own? Please,  think about what you are writing! You may not know how she got to be so far away, but that doesn't mean she walked the whole distance. She probably got a mile from home and met up with a human who helped her make the distance.
 
If the writer didn't catch it, it was some editor's job to notice. I know they may not have wanted to blame anyone, but they should be allowed to figure that they didn't know, not that the dog somehow traveled that far on stubby legs.
