[Dailydrool] Beds types

I have never had a dog who liked the inexpensive polyfil types that are
so fluffy and SPRINGY. They're afraid to walk on them. If they lie down
on one, they up a minuite later. It either "rolls" under them or nearly
smothers them.

The best beds are at least several inches thick, preferably with
bolsters -- either across the back or along back and sides as well. If
the cover is a bit loose, all the better for digging and scrunching to
proper fit. (thus won't last as long, but the dog is happy). The
cheapest alternative to a Dog Bed (sold as such) is a baby crib bed or
baby bed mattress. Cover with baby sheet (put a waterproof pad
underneath if need be) -- slide up against the couch or wall. Perfect.

Convince your dog it is better than jumping up on the couch. Make them
think it IS the couch or chair. Maybe sit in it yourself a few times to
show how wonderful it is.

THEN, maybe -- just maybe -- YOU can sit on the couch or chair. ALONE.
Briefly.
