>> Lucy is our scarfer, and we feed her in a bowl that slows her down as well.  It is plastic, made in China for the J.W.Pet Company, Inc. of Teleboro, NJ.  The recessed bowl area is sort of shaped like a plus sign rather than being nobby, and has really worked well for slowing her down. She's used it for at least a year. I think that I would worry more about painted bowls from china (which we used in the past - thinking they were enameled) since the paint flecks off and may contain lead.
