Oh I've been there too.  My Bassett has never been Diagnosed with Addisons but the eating of plants, fur, leaves, carpet  and throwing up, yes.  So bad recently it cost me close to 2,000.  My vet said Pepcid AC once daily.  So far, so good.  I used to give Gas X, but found it wasnt working too well.  I would love an exact explanation of the process but so far no one has been able to provide.
