[Dailydrool] Question re Burned Hound

I, too, was wondering about what happened. Maybe someone in the family had an enemy. However, the basset apparently was adopted in 2009. The money the rescue is trying to raise is supposed to be for a REWARD for finding who did it, not money for the rescue activities. Even if someone in the poor baby's family had something to do with it (and I am certainlly not saying I think they did), it is important to catch whoever did it and hopefully make them pay, big time. .
 
Utah Friends of Basset Hounds had a young basset stolen from a fenced back yard and the next day she was thrown from a moving car and died. They never did catch who did that, and I know for a fact it was nothing to do with her family. They were devastated. 
 
Question. Since the rescue folks are saying that the poor, tortured houndie in California was adopted through them and that the family is sad....how did this hound end up on fire? Was he kidnapped? Did he waddle off? I am missing something and the space would like to know before sending some money for a reward......
