[Dailydrool] Eye Advice for Sissy & a thank you...

I just wanted to thank all of you who responded not only on the DD but to me
personally with your experiences with dogs that have had ulcers or eye
concerns. 

 

We took Sissy in this morning to see her Ophthalmologist and as predicted
her ulcer has ruptured and is pretty severe, and is even affecting her iris.
The ophthalmologist is extremely disappointed in the care the regular vet
gave her as it was not correct.  He thinks we have a very good chance of
saving the eye but this is of course going to be an extremely long process
of healing.  The surgery will run HHBR approx. $2,000 and that includes her
new eye meds with a discount.  She will come home tonight and will be
staying with me while we do back & forth rechecks for her through the next 5
weeks.   Dr Grozdanic also said the surgery will alleviate most of the pain
and pressure she is currently experiencing, so I'm hopeful for that.  

 

I will keep those following Sissy's medical history posted on how her
healing is going.
