Yesterday morning my husband and I were reading our emails and when we passed by the living room on our way back to the kitchen for more coffee my husband noticed the remote control to the TV was missing from his table in the living room. There were no pieces of plastic anywhere so we assumed Bernard, our new puppy had taken it and burried it.
We turned the house upside down, shaking out dog beds, turning furniture over, checking the cracks of the couches and chairs, looking underneath tables... got the vacuum out moved the furniture looked in crates, then decided he took it outside. So we get our heavy coats on for the first time this fall and step by step comb the back yard... nothing... not a sign anywhere. I could not believe he could swallow the whole thing it is about ten inches long but called the vet and made an appointment to get an X ray...
It was afternoon before we gave up looking and went to the cable company and got a new one. The women working there had a good laugh made some jokes about did he eat your homework too??? LOL very funny!!! We got a new remote then took turns trying to reprogram the thing... I sure wish my grandson lived closer I hate trying to program those silly things.
My vet appointment was later that afternoon so we were passing time working on getting things done around the house and just as I was about ready to get the harness and hook Bernard up for our vet visit I turn around and there he is bringing it in the dog door in his mouth!! I have no idea where he had it hidden but we looked and looked outside we searched every inch of the back yard and did not see it at all but he had it hidden out there some place. I was so relieved he had not eaten any of it ( but really did not think he had) like my husband said we would have found some plastic somewhere and there was no plastic anywhere, and he did not act like he had anything to eat or an upset tummy.
I was so relieved to find it and that it was intact and still works all is well... Oh! the joys of having a puppy!
