medication in it is 2% Miconazole Nitrate. I've been lucky so far and Gold
Bond has taken care of any irritations the Houndettes have gotten in their
arm pits and on their belly but I have often wondered if Desinex would work
better. I know dogs don't sweat but my girls all develop irritated pits at
one time or another and I can imagine that they're yeasty or have a fungus
moving in because their pits do get moist and it's a great breeding ground
for stuff like that. I never remember to ask my vet about the Desinex and
was wondering if any of you know.<<<

YES- you can use it. Monistat is the brand name that I know. It's a topical cream for women's yeast infections. You can buy the store brand and save moolah and have the same results. Apply a thin layer and rub it in good. Do it twice a day for 5 days. If after a week symptoms are back- do it again. Armpits are a great breeding ground for yeast- dark, warm and moist. You're rubbing it in good ( wash your hands well after) and most bassets I know aren't athletic enough to lick their armpits, so they won't get much even if they do lick.

Good Luck, Angelika
