[Dailydrool] Talking, Snuggling and Heidi

Wulfie talks all the time. He also barks, all the time. He will howl if we howl with him, he has a deep beautiful ahroo and a very big boy bark. Brian or I will start howling and then he joins in. Gunter never howled, I had him for 7 years. He didn't talk either but boy did he make up for that with barking. He was definitely a waryear prinze. Wulfie thinks he would make a good waryear prinze, but he's worried it will be too much work and might cut into his sleeping time. He does protect everyone though. He has a fit if I take his cat out of the house (to the vet) and will howl his sad howl the entire time we are gone. I took him to the vet (once) with his cat and he cried every time the vet touched Ninja. He kept jumping up to the edge of the vet table to see what was going on. Thankfully, they all have a good sense of humor there and just laughed at him. He does his sad howl when I take Heidi to the vet too, and he did the same thing for Gunter. We adopted a little basset girl 3 weeks ago, we named her Heidi and she has just captured our hearts. She is my little red headed girl. Wulfie loves his sister, he stopped walking around and crying as soon as we brought her home. She is a tiny basset, still underweight but I doubt she will ever get past 40 pounds. When we brought her home she was 29 lbs and very very skinny. She doesn't howl or talk but she barks when she wants us to know something. And she's really been coming out of her shell. To quote the Clueless Momperson, she is a dickens. She loves shoes. I haven't had to hide shoes for 6 years but I do now. 7 years with bassets and neither of them ever attempted to go downstairs to the basement, the second day she was home I went to do laundry, came out of the laundry room and she was right there, all happy with herself for finding me. She goes through the mail for me and rips up everything (thankfully it's just been just junk mail so far). She saw Wulfie pick up the water bowl and bring it to me yesterday to fill it, so this morning she did it. Wulfie didn't tell her she had to wait until it was empty though. She's also figured out how to get through the gate I have up to keep the dogs out of the bathroom and bedrooms, (mainly because the litter boxes are in the bathroom). One of Wulfie's favorite things though is to tell on her when she's doing something wrong (if he is awake of course) so at least I have a bit of a warning system. I'm not sure if she is trying to be a fairy princess or if she wants an OEBE title. She's awesome though and we love her. She will let me pick her up and loves to snuggle. Wulfie loves to snuggle too, but at 60 pounds I only pick him up if I have to. He will cuddle with me and I can lay on the couch with him, wrap my arms around him and snuggle him close. It's my favorite thing to do :-)

I do have a question, I haven't had a girl before, and she likes to wear clothes, she seems to really like hats. Where do people get all the cute basset girl clothes from? I had a cubs hat that I bought for Gunter but he refused to wear it. I put it on her, and she's too small so it keeps falling off. She keeps bringing it back to me to put it on though.

Healing drool for everyone that needs it
