I'd like to request some drool for Horton. Shortly after he came to us, he had a bout of bloody diarrhea. We did the whole metronidazole routine, and he bounced back for a while. But it happened again last weekend. He's still making gas that's stinky enough to empty a room, and his poop isn't completely firm. Our vet has done a fecal to test for giardia and took some blood too, but we don't have results back yet; bloodwork should be back today or tomorrow. I have him tentatively scheduled for an ultrasound on Friday. Since my regular vet was not there on the weekend, when we first took him in, the covering vet said she thought it was stress colitis. But then he started barfing, which may mean the colitis has affected affected the stomach too--or could mean it's something else..

Could you sling some drool in Horton's direction? Since we've had him, he hasn't had what I would call normal puppy energy, and I'm concerned that his tummy may be part of the problem. (It also doesn't help that he's a very nervous dog and expends a lot of his energy on worrying about anything from loud sounds to strange people.)

Other than that he's a wonderful hound who adores his mama, just as a boy hound should. The feeling is absolutely mutual, and I'd like to have him feeling really good so we can deal with training for the fear issues.
