- no they do not. Not off of tables or chairs either. The old non walking hound will dump the trash can for chicken bones ( cooked ones) and we take it out or off the floor if those are in there.

spot or pets or toys or whatever?"
- of course they do.
3)  "scampers out the door and down the street and plays around while you are 
telling them to get back inside?"
- no they do not. If they go out front it's because someone said 'ok'. It's an important rule in this house that no one ever bolts. They have been taught not to ( by allowing off leash times) and to (generally) come when called. Praised to high heavens when they do. 
4)  "goes through your bag and gets out interesting stuff and mouths it, possibly 
chewing it up?"
- nope, never.
5)  "wakes you at 5AM because they want breakfast early?"
- we get up at around 4:45 every morning. Peanut likes regular meals...every hour would be preferable if she were asked...I am an early riser.
6)  "gets a hold of your assorted stuff and takes it out back to inspect it and 
drool on it and leaves it where you can't find it?"
- again... nope, never. Pens or pencils dropped on the floor are chewed up if found by Peaches.
Yes, they really really ARE bassets!
