[Dailydrool] Urgently Needed Varmint Advice

We have had this problem repeatedly over the years. It is very disruptive for the neighborhood because the hounds, when they corner it, develop a furiously loud chorus different from all their other singings and I recognize it immediately. And most often in the middle of the night because we have a dog door. I also used cat food as bait and it worked immediately. I dropped the opossums off at a nearby Ecosystem park. If it is a small, young one, rather than putting out a trap, I will pick it up by the neck with my long handled barbecue tongs and toss it over the (PVC privacy) fence into my neighbor's yard. The dogs then stop barking, I bring them inside and shut the dog door. I might see it again another night but not too many times. Eventually after being cornered and terrorized by my pack and then thrown over the fence 2 or 3 times it finds better places to hang out. The big ones are too heavy and strong for the barbecue tongs.
