[Dailydrool] sleeping through the night

Bo has doggie dementia, among his other problems. For awhile, he had his days and nights reversed, and would be up all night randomly baying every few hours (and sleep all day). His is a different situation from Browyn's given Bo did sleep (just not synchronized with the rest of the household) and the cause of his sleeplessness was known (dementia), so what I'm sharing might not be useful--or it might.

We tried giving Benedryl and it had no effect. We tried wearing Bo out with exercise and doggie daycare during the day and it had no effect. so we went to our vet for help.

The vet put Bo on Prozac, Valium, and Melatonin at bedtime. And my husband and I stopped feeding breakfast to the dogs as soon as Bo managed to get us out of bed in the morning. (Now we wait at least one hour after rising, so Bo doesn't connect baying us awake to being fed? The combination has worked and Bo now sleeps through the night? But that may be too much medicine for a healthy dog. I suspect it depends on why Browyn doesn't sleep as to what the solution would be. good luck. I know sleep deprivation is a bear. Val
