A Merry Christmas to all. The 4 hounds are all snoozing after a day full of belly rubs and snuggles. MacKenzie fell asleep on my father in law's lap. I read about the crockpot dog food diet and had great hopes for increasing her veggies to decrease her weight. They all LOVED this food. However, with ground beef, ground pork and ground turkey coupled with cocoanut oil, the fat content was too high for Gallagher. He started to show signs of pancreatitis again. So, we are back to 1 cup of low fat lamb and rice dry kibble with fat free yogurt (vanilla preferred!).

MacKenzie has lost about 6 lbs. in the last year. She still needs to lose a lot more, but needs to have a gigantic cyst removed and could really use a dental. The vet is very concerned about her and anesthesia. She's almost 6 and has had dental done at her higher weight. Her blood work is great and she walks one half to one mile a day. She's scheduled for surgery on the 3rd. So, what veggies are out there, besides green beans (she spits them out) , that will fill her up with few calories? Drool on the 3rd would be appreciated.
