Marlene - I think feeding venison is a great idea.  For a carb, tried
baked sweet potatoes (leave the skin on, for fiber and added
vitamins).  Try just those two foods, mixed together, for two weeks.
See if her itching seems to decrease a bit.

Also, at this point, I really really urge you to get a referral from
your vet to a specialist; maybe a vet allergist, or a veterinary
demratologist - someone who deals specifically with skin and itching
issues.  If your vet is unable or unwilling to give you a referral,
then please find and call the nearest veterinary school and get an
appointment with them.  Your vet is obviously unable to diagnose what
is really going on with your girl, and quite frankly, he's wasted
enough of your money and her suffering.

(so called because you eliminate most foods from her diet, until you
