[Dailydrool] doggie dementia

Oh Val!  My heart is breaking for you.  It sounds like it isn't too far
along yet.  Bo still knows who mom is.  Plus, he knows he is supposed to go
to the door to go out even if he isn't actually getting out the door.  I
have had two dogs get like this and it is completely heartbreaking near the
end.  We tried anapril in both of them.  It turned out in Banshee the
dementia was being caused by a brain tumor and the anapril helped to a
certain degree but then she had personality changes because of the tumor.
 In Bubbles, the dementia was being caused by successive strokes and it
didn't work at all.  I would try it.  I have talked to people that said it
made all the difference in the world.  It is hard when they don't know who
you are, who they are, or enjoy any of the things they used to enjoy in
life.  If you can get some of it back or slow down the process with the
anapril, I would.
