[Dailydrool] Dailydrool Foster Home Needed

Hi : ),

I know Daily Drool is all about bassets, and over the years I have learned
so much for all its members-as I raised my 3 babies : ).

I was hoping you could open your hearts and take a look at Bruno.

Bruno is the last dog standing at the Sandy Animal Shelter in New York. His
dad lost everything in the storm and is now living out of his car. He visits
Bruno every day which makes Bruno very happy, but he howls for almost an
hour after he leaves.

Bruno is a big, teddy-bear of a dog. Bruno needs a foster home. Bruno is a
sweet boy in a tough situation. I was hoping someone might know of a person
who could foster him. This is why I turned to Daily Drool (maybe Bruno could
be an honorary basset hound : )?).

Here's a pic of Bruno and his story:

http://bit.ly/Xd3oUH

Thanks so much for listening,

Take care,

Sue : )

I am sitting here reading the Drool, and I am feeling more than a little
guilty. I just read what I have read about UTI's on the Drool for years,
and never once did it occur to me to that my solution might also work for a
Basset Hound. I read with sadness about all of the UTI's. I know how those
go.

My Prostate is way too big, and I have had a Supra Pubic Catheter for
almost 8 years. I was diagnosed with Chronic Prostatitis (NOTE!!! If you
put Prostatitis into your phone or computer, it will probably correct it to
'Prostitutes'. Some of you might remember how sick I used to get...I'd
have e-coli one week, be allegedly infection free, and then have another
infection. It was a nightmare for me. I got to the point that in order to
save my life, they were going to put me in the hospital with IV's in both
arms........

The wife of the Youth Pastor at my church attended a big conference on
supplements one week-end, shortly after she heard how sick I had been
getting, and how miserable and sick I was that weekend. She came across D
Mannose that weekend, and heard that it was a true help to people that are
suffering from Chronic UTI's.

She bought a bottle of the D-Mannose that weekend, and gave it to me. She
said that it might help me, and asked me to try them and see. She explained
to me that the D-Mannose is a simple sugar, and it coats the lining of the
bladder, and urinary tract, and prevents the e-coli, or UTI, from bonding
with the lining of the bladder.

I am not sure about the other things I do, and use in basset Hound. There
are several things I do everyday that contribute to my well being today. I
take 2 D Mannose a day, and I also
put a teaspoon of vinegar in with some juice or flavored drink such as
Gatorade.

Debbie wrote about the D-Mannose and Nigel....I feel so bad, please forgive
me for not mentioning this before, it just never occurred to me that my
cure could be your Basset Hounds cure as well. I have not had a UTI in
several years, thanks to the D-Mannose. I recommend it for Hound or Human!!
It works!!

Drool to those in need. May you all, including your hounds, achieve a true
UTI free life!!

In Drool.

What is the best Flea Med to use on a two year old. Someone said there are
new ones out this spring and was wondering what other hounds use.

Well, it appears that MacKenzie has a nasty urinary infection. I'm relieved
that it's treatable. I'm always checking symptoms against Internet searches
and was fearing the worst. She's on strong antibiotics and goes for a
recheck next week.

Pumpkin is fiber. Fiber can make you go when you can't and can also make you
go lots and not so firm.
To firm up poop- put a spoonful on one meal a day. If your hound is
constipated or has poop that is just too hard, give a heaping spoon with
each meal until things improve. Fiber goes both ways...
Acidophilus is good bacteria that lives in the gut. Not enough and you have
tummy issues. ANY brand will do. Give one a day until symptoms improve and
then you can go to every other day.
UTI's- they can be a pain. Literally. Often you don't know your hound has
one until they pee in the house or you see blood. A friend's basset girl was
just diagnosed with an ecoli UTI- she's been treated for several uti's for
the last year or so. Now she is on meds that are effective for ecoli and
hopefully by the end of the month it will be gone.
Elvis had lots of UTI's the first year after he lost the use of his legs. He
is able to urinate on his own. Can't control it- but at least it comes out
without help.
If you're in the Pittburgh area ( or maybe just under 200 m,iles away....)
come waddle with us in the parade on saturday! Bring your hound. We line up
between 16th and 21th Street by 9 am. Look for the red Ford truck with the
Droopy banner and all the bassets.
droolies, Angelika

Hi all!
Senior Houndsabound was also the recipient of a portion of proceeds from the
DD calendar. Laura had sent it over earlier this week and I usually write
out thank you notes, but it did not come to me on how to thank everyone
involved till Lisa posted for BBR! (Thanks Lisa )
An email will tell everyone how very grateful we are and also a big thank
you was the answer,
so thank you everyone! Especially Laura and all the helpers in checking,

Good afternoon all,
This is Jade and Jasmin woofing in. The slave Johnathan took a short end of
summer break from the office going back yesterday. We girls had wonderful
morning walks with the slave meeting all the neighbourhood hounds and humans
as the fields are currently off the walking list because of the increase in
snake activity preparing for the winter. We girls also have a strange story
to tell about a breeder probably back yard and not licensed who had a litter
of 8 Basset puppies who he thought were not up to standard and told one of
the ladies working for him to put the puppies in a box and take them to the
squatter camp and give them away. Two people in the neighbour hood heard
about this and told the slave Johnathan, fortunately they were able to get
hold of the worker and took away the box of puppies from her, before she got
to the squatter camp. The buppies came to our house for awhile and we two
Grannies got to sniff and play with the puppies. We would love to have been
mommies
again and had already chosen the name Joshua for one of the male puppies but
it was not to be, the slave Johnathan and the 2 neighbours had all 8 placed
in good Basset homes with in 2 days. The two people from the neighbour hood
kept one puppy as their Basset girl is now 13, Botha the new six month old
Basset in the neighbourhood got a puppy sister to play with and the other
six were taken by previous Basset owners who had not got more pets once
their beloved babies had left for the Bridge and each of the 3 families took
2 puppies each.
This is Buppy Lilly and PW Justin chiming in; we just want to say that we
are all ready to celebrate and take part in the Saint Patricks Day Parade
ATB and can not wait to get to the after party at the end of the Parade.
Queen Fey Fey has give instructions for an extra float to be made shaped
like an open oyster shell and the float will be done out in royal purple and
white and Princess Maxine accompanied by Walter and Gunter who have all just
arrived safely ATB in time for the Parade will travel in the float and will
get to meet and sniff all the other houndies at the after party after the
Parade.
Jade and Jasmin still wishing we could have been mommies all over again,
instead of being two young grannies.
Lilly and Justin ATB hoping the slaves will celebrate St. Patricks in an
orderly way especially the slave Johnathan who is Irish and is inclined to
take the celebrations to a new level.
Slaves William and Johnathan wishing all in drool land an exciting weekend
and a good ST.Patricks Day

Ever since the rescue site for the shelter challenge changed to its updated
version, the search portion isn't working for me. On most of my devices the
information on 4 the hounds has been saved, but on the computers where that
vote box is gone, the search is not working. I put "basset" and "MO" in the
appropriate boxes and after I press "search" I get nothing. Is anyone else
having problems with this? Any tips?

my girls love the sweet potatoes and I now use them as treats, I slice
them thin and bake them, my twin sister is bring down her dehydrator so I
will try to do that , they are kind of limp bwhahahah but when my girls
are
way out back in the yard and wont come in , I stand on the patio and
yell sweet taters sweet taters and they both run for the house.

as for blood in the urine, my Evil Annie gets Cystitis often and when
she does, she pees chunks of blood, like little blood clots, they do
cultures and find nothing as far as bacteria and they have even done two
ultra
sounds and every thing is normal, they have her on Dasaquin which is
normally for inflammation of the joints , but it also helps with
inflammation
in other areas, and she also is on a cranberry pill once a day.

I sure can sympathize with being sick, I will tell you my arthritis and
MS is in over drive and I can hardly walk these days, I have to take my
Maggie to the vets today and I can not take Annie with us as I can not
handle two hounds anymore, one at a time, which means a lot of driving as
my
vet is 13 miles away, so Maggie today and Annie next Tuesday. Time for
Vaccinations

we are sending prayers and get well drool Chris, that you feel better soon

Hi all it's snoopy here

Gracie's really done it this time. DadPerson says she has broken a federal
law and could get some serious time for this. She is currently hiding out
under the bed

You see this morning Gracie notice the clueless momPerson had left her purse
on the floor. Gracie nosed it open and found some money in there loose.
Paper money. Yup. She chewed momPerson s money into little tiny pieces.
And dadPerson says defacing money is what she did and its a federal crime.

More later from Snoopy who had nothing to do with it

Try typing only the number "4" in the name part and MO in the state part.
That is how it always pulls up for me. I hope it works for you.
