[Dailydrool] food bloat

Our Maddie did this a few weeks ago and there  is no way that she got into 
any extra food.   One of us always stays  and watches them eat so that they 
each get to finish their own food so she  didn't have any of Rocky's and 
there is absolutely no way she can get into the  container of kibble that we 
feed them from.. 
    One night Maddie was wimpering   while she was watching TV with us and 
when she did get up to move, we noticed  that her sides were extended and 
her tummy was hard as a rock.  So off to  the emergency vet she and I went and 
after x-rays they said she had  food bloat.   She stayed overnight with 
fluids and by morning was  ready to come home.   They sent some Tramadol home 
with her but I only  gave her one and then she was fine..   They said she got 
this from  eating too fast and swallowing too much air while gobbling and 
suggested that we  get her one of those special dishes that force them to eat 
slower.  She  does not like this dish much but does eat a lot slower.   Her 
vet bill  for this visit was $857 and this was after a bill two days 
earlier for Rocky for  $700 plus for another attack of bloody diarrhea.
