Hi it's Gracie,

The day before yesterday mommy came home and she was frustrated.  She was all dressed up for work and she had her high heeled shoes on .... her favorite ones.  She took those off in the living room (she does that a lot) and set them down on the floor.  She was frustrated with the teenager and she told her so but then the teenager tried to deflect what mommy was saying by telling mommy that she was frustrated with daddy.  And then daddy said, very loudly, that he was frustrated with mommy AND the teenager.  Natalie hid in her room with her head phones on, LuLu snarked at Snoopy, so then Snoopy turned right around and offered to eat me.  So I did what any self respecting basset would do ......

I went back into the living room chewed up mommy's shoes because it was all her fault and she started it all and she deserved it.  I have never done this before.  Mommy came into the living room and said "oh no, my favorite high heeled shoes."  And Julianne said "oh no!  maybe they can be fixed."    And mommy said "no, they can't, they have to be thrown away."  And then she sat down on the floor and she stroked my head and she said "it's my fault Gracie, I left them on the floor.  It's ok Gracie, I love you much more than I loved the shoes."

I thought I would share in case any other basset faces a house full of frustrated family members.  Apparently the best solution is to simply go ahead and chew up someone's shoes.

Love,
Gracie
