So sorry you had to go through that. I went through something similar with MissBecky being diagnosed with a sore back and after much sickness and vet's misdiagnosis out of desperation went to another vet who recognized immediately that it was   Addisons.   She lived to be 10 with many vet visits .   
It is like walking on a tightrope all the time but glad we had her. Lots of drool for Rolph.  Shle eventually developed thyroid too.
