[Dailydrool] Talking dogs and other things

I'm not sure if what I do is exactly like what Bev's experienced, but I often put words into my hounds' mouths. I just look at them and know what they would say, and I say it. It is often funny and almost always sounds like the kind of thoughts a basset would have. Often Drew laughs at the comments.

I noticed the other day that when I tapped my fingers on Horton's head, it sounded empty. I'm wondering if that's because it is. Though he is about two years old, he still is not perfect on the potty training. I think that's because, when he goes out, he's so busy looking around and making sure no one is threatening him that he often forgets what he's supposed to do. I comment on what a good boy Dex is when he does his business, but it barely seems to get in that empty basset noggin. Does anyone have such experience with an empty noggin?

Dexter, my hound who never, ever, pees inside the house, had some episodes in which he dribbled some. Once I figured out that he was the culprit, we went right over to the vet. When the tests came out negative, we had an ultrasound. It showed cystitis (a bladder infection), though the tests hadn't. I am really confused, though my vet seemed to think that can happen. He's on another couple of rounds of antibiotic, and I hope that's the end of it. I haven't seen any more such accidents since he finished the first round of antibiotic, so I am hopeful. Can anyone explain this to me?
