[Dailydrool] Singing

I sing to Harrison ALL the time! I'm glad people can't hear me, at least I don't think they can, for no doubt they'd sign me up for the looney bin. But that's OK, I love to sing to him, often making up songs and he eats it up. He'll roll and roll, tail thumping the bed in rhythm. I call him my little drummer boy. Maybe he should have been named Ringo instead of Harrison. ha.

I'll have to try singing to him outside, when we're on our walks. That's where he's the most fearful, nervous and always on guard. His tail stays down and rarely wags unless I get his attention to give him a treat. If he's barking, his tail will wag, but I know that doesn't necessarily mean friendly. He'll still snap if people or a dog gets too close. I talk to him, but haven't tried singing much. People might once again think I'm nuts, but when it comes to doing what's best for my little love, let them think what they will!

I'm more and more convinced that Harrison, not only is a God send, but my mom, may she rest in peace, had something to do with it. Harrison doesn't like me to speak to people and that's exactly what my mother feared. Mom told me: If you HAVE to move to Chicago, do NOT speak to strangers. You're friendly and like to talk to people. DON'T, it's not safe there! I prayed that God would send me a Basset and I can just hear the conversation that God had with Harrison: Harrison, I'm sending you to a lady who really needs you. Your job is to love and help take care of her, while she in turn will do the same for you. Oh, and her mother wants you to make sure she doesn't talk to anyone. You keep her in her place and keep people away from her. It's working, people keep their distance.

London Bridges here we come!
