​Sally I would ask the Vet to please double check the anal gland area and
perhaps do an actual rectal check to be sure there is nothing in there
irritating the colon. Antibiotics and steroids can both upset the stomach
in most unpleasant ways, so I would want something to coat the gut as well.
If it continues much longer I would certainly consider seeing a specialist.
You might also request (in fact I strongly suggest it) an ultrasound of the
colon and belly. (If your Vet has an ultrasound do that before you consult
a specialist. Otherwise, I would try to find someone who has one.)
This is what I would do, if Rolph were my dog. This advice is free and not
from a real Vet or even a real Tech. It is worth what you paid for it.

PS ok this sounds crazy but I've experienced it and used it. Ask your Vet
if he has ever used Barium therapeutically. It coats the entire intestinal
tract and has a....rather solidifying effect on stools.
