[Dailydrool] Dr. Synthia

On May 31, 2014, Barb Sorensen and I took a ride from a girls weekend in Vegas and went to the Daphneyland Hoe Down. We got to see Dawn of the West, meet some nice people, even more nice hounds, buy raffle tickets and spend a little time with Synthia and her pack. Samson, Kahuna, Zuma, Tucker and Charm were very gracious about accepting cookies. Synthia introduced me to them and we took turns taking pictures of each other. She smiled between daWn and I in a shot that is on the Daphneyland Website. It wasn't until the following Monday morning that daWn wrote there was trouble in houndie paradise. Poor daWn went through the week from heck trying to stop what proved inevitable. 







I emailed with Synthia, sometimes, and she came down for a Boardwaddle. Many of us followed her interesting path across country with curiosity. I was very lucky to pet them and meet Synthia. While I thought we were largely having fun and daWn was remembering her friend, Jill, Synthia had already calculated surrendering the four footers. She was smart, well organized and had a goal. Even daWn was not going to stand in her way. What drives people to different places is hard to grasp and there are surely times when I am clueless. This is one of them.

Her houndies remain available for adoption at Daphneyland.....Kahuna is a spectacular breeder hound who comes with his own buddy, Zuma. Charm is a sweet fluffy dog who Synthia said was a basset poodle. ....and dear little Tucker who wears his special pants and is the cutest thing on four paws. Samson, The big Saint Bernard has a new family to be. They better be good belly rubbers.
