[Dailydrool] basset games

my bassets always loved to do the 500, with einstein particularly liking
being chased by anyone else (even marty).  when dixie joined us, they
devised a game of bases.  they would run from one dog bed to the other and
somehow if they made it without being "attacked" they were safe.  Yesterday
we re-arranged the livingroom furniture and the couch now sits away from
the wall.  this am after a bath, i noticed a new game and spied on them.
 one stood parallel to the couch and the other was parallel with the
arm...so they were nose to nose but stood far enough back so they couldn't
see each other.  they would then jump out at odd intervals and try to scare
each other.  all i can say is what a bunch of goofballs........i laughed
and marveled at their ability to make up rules that they both understand.
