Hi all,

Drool to all in need this stormy afternoon!

We have all the TVS up high as there are a few Bounders nervous with the
thunder they are hearing. The thundershirts may be helping some, but not
100%.

I hate rainy days on the weekend, would sure rather they happen during the
week.

Hank got through his surgery well and is recovering with us. He is on pain
meds, and has started to eat a little, so we are happy at this point with
his recovery. While he was only to get tacked for bloat, they discovered a
bunch of undigested oak leaves in his stomach. We do not know how long they
have been there, or whether the leaves caused the bloating episodes, or he
ate the leaves due to tummy upset. They had to open his stomach up for this
and all leaves were removed, even the total intestines were checked and no
more were found. Time will tell on what was causing him to bloat up, we
were fortunate, in that the 7-8 times he bloated up over the last 2 months,
his stomach did not twist. But I felt that it was a matter of time and
would rather do the surgery when his body was not in shock from it twisting.
It was a good thing since they did find the leaves, all undigested, not sure
how long they had been in there.

Yesterday afternoon, I went and picked up a 12-13 yr. old Beagle, named
Hunter. He is just precious and is getting along with all. However, his
breathe could knock you over. In his vet check this morning, we found he
has abscesses in a couple of teeth and more than likely fistulas. I hate
they let him get this bad, but I know after his dental on Thursday, he will
start to feel better. We have him on antibiotics and pain meds for a few
days to get the infection down before the procedure. He is healthy
otherwise. His owner has cancer and could no longer care for him. I will
have his picture on FB a little later on toady on the Senior Houndsabound
page.

I hope the Bridge gates close for a while, too many are leaving of late and
while I feel comfort knowing who all is up there greeting them, it is still
sad for those left behind.

Hugs and drool to all,

Wen and the Bounders
