[Dailydrool] King George's 13th birthday!

Today King George celebrated his 13th birthday. His day was filled with love, tweats, lots of fun, and naps. He and his brudders and sisters had cake, ice cream, hot dogs, vienna sausages, presents, belly rubs. I spread out the tweats to last all day and so he wouldn't get it all at once. They are all exhausted now. He let me take his picture with his birthday hat on. And his two legged truck driving brudder came home just in time for his birthday!

George has had a piece of my heart since he was a mere six weeks old. Long before I knew of the drool or the evils of back yard breeders. Although when my son told me of a friend at school whose parents bred their bassets just so they could give away the pups it did make he think if that was the best thing to do. I often wonder if his littermates are still living. I suspect his mom and dad have gone to the bridge. 

He was the runt of the litter. The last one to go. I give thanks every day for him. He is my best friend and my husband and kids accept it. They know they have no other choice. They know they don't want to hang out with me like my George does. George doesn't even mind when I act silly and dance around and sing off key! I would do anything for that hound. Oh how I love him.

Happy birthday baby boy! Here's to the next 13 years!
