Well, Toby has been with us for a little over two months and has certainly
brought some life back to the Houndettes. The younger hounds were very
respectful of Jersey during the months that she was sick and things were
very quiet here. Not any more! This little guy has ENERGY and insists that
everyone around him has energy too! He has been really good for my girls
and has got all of us moving again. Ginger tried to eat him several times
but, once she realized she could play with him, everything changed and she
is Toby's best friend. We never forget how food aggressive she is so Toby
and Ginger both know to go to their crates when it's treat time and they're
both leashed for meals. And what a pleasure this little guy is! He tends to
be a little timid with strangers but loves his family with his whole heart.
We are just so happy that he is part of our family!

Ginger is a lumpy girl and had a cyst rupture last week. Ugh! What a mess!
We tried to take care of it here but, by the weekend, it needed a vet
visit. Needless to say, she is on a couple of antibiotics and will have to
have it removed as some point in the not so distant future.

Shadow is great and Suzy is doing ok. We recently discovered Suzy has a
minimal arrhythmia but it is minimal and she doesn't need to be medicated
for it yet. We did have to take her off Proin that she's been taking for
her incontinence and switch her to an estrogen product. At this point, I
don't know that the estrogen works as well as the Proin did but the jury is
still out. I'm supposed to reduce her to half a tablet a day when she is in
good control but we haven't reached that point yet!

Chris Bly, thank you so much for keep track of who and when we're supposed
to vote! I was disappointed that our last rescue didn't win the big prize
but I hope we can pull it off for the chosen rescue this time. BaRCSE was
so grateful when we won that money and I know every rescue out there is
struggling right now. We can't fulfill our rescue mission if we don't have
the funds to work with. Please everyone, take the couple of seconds to vote
every day. And please make sure you click on the Animal Rescue Site with
the purple paw on the right hand side of the page and then click on the big
purple button to donate food to needy dogs. It only takes a few seconds of
your day but it is so important to some needy dogs.

So that's it for the Houndettes house right now. I guess we aren't just
Houndettes any longer with our sweet Toby with us! It's time for a change!

Get well and heart healing drool is being slung to all who need it.
