[Dailydrool] Hank Arrived

Pawtunia here..... since I almost went to see Feyfey, I have had a little trouble connecting to her and Momcakes.....who loved me very much. Momcakes would never drop a tree on my head. It must be some really bad person who was out to get me. Anywoof...

The pawty at the bridge for Hank of Las Vegas continues. The  buffet was set with true casino fare. Crab legs, prime rib......lots of clams and shrimp and pasta and olives and wings and yards and yards of deserts and an ice cream wall and little plates of Chinese Food and cheese, oooh the cheese. Miss Molly greeted Hank and so did Thelma who had put on special pawfume for her Hank. First stop the  buffet and ya woulda thought they were at Caesars woofin Palace. Then Admiral Bo showed up. Big woofs all around. A show! Really! A big show. Clouds arranged in tiers and the kitchen beagles had to call rent a table to find nuff. Hank and Thelma were in the front banquet, with bowls of champagne. Bo was the Master of Ceremonies and Molly was wearing feathers and a headpiece!  They had called over to central casting and got the right guy on the phone! Old Vegas ruled. They got Dean Pawtin,  Hammy Davis, Jr. and even Franks Sinatra! Lotsa singing and good times. Dancing poodles! Beads tossed. Hank in his Element. Okay, he didn't actually have to ride, but there was an Element if he wanted one.

Caruso passed the telescope around and there was a lot of   checking on Hank's people. He says call Auntie Darlene. There is a houndie waiting to try and fill his pawprints......

This Ruger woofing in with a special request for my drool family. The Senior
Hounds Abound Calendar contest is now in full swing. My brother Colt who
made his journey to the bridge a few months ago and I are contestants to be
Senior Hounds Abound big month calendar hounds. This is our first and last
chance at having our own month on the senior hounds calendar together. So
please go to Senior Hounds Abound website and vote for us...we don't have to
win...we just need to be in the top 12 to get our very own month. We love
all of you and all of the hounds that are competing for this most awesome
spot on a highly prized calendar.  And the best part by voting for us other
than making our little houndie dreams come true....you get two handsome
hounds for the price of one.  Please vote for us...Colt and Ruger.  But even
if you don't vote for us please go vote for some lucky hounds because all
the proceeds from this contest go to support all the senior hounds at Senior
Hounds Abound Rescue.

Lewis! You get better Dude! Cnly don't let that Bleke dog get the upper hand!

I would like to ask drool for my Milton. He is an alum from 4 The Hounds. Figure he is somewhere aroun 13 or 14. I see him slowly slipping away. Just need drool for him to go on his own time and quietly. My heart is breaking more each day.

Tricia,

Sent you a long e-mail which came back undelivered.

So sorry for the unexpected loss of Harrison.  Tilly is especially
saddened.  For Harrison was her 'One and Only" love.

I have not heard from you since March and wondered if you had a new e-mail
so please write me off line.

Prayers and love to you in your loss.  Sue to Tilly, Phoebe and Harvey

Dear Llewis,
I am so sorry you are feeling so rotten. I am hoping it is just that stupid
sleepy stuff they give you that is making you feel bad. It makes me feel
terrible for about 2 days. Then I am right as rain. I can't eat or drink
without puking up all over the floor. That is all that is wrong...I hope.
It better be all that is wrong because my mom says she can't handle you
leaving for the bridge so soon after Nigel. If MY mom couldn't take it,
think about your mom, Mr. Biscuit, Conley and the Bleke dog. So you take it
easy at the vet's today and come home feeling much better. Meanwhile we are
all drooling our hearts out!

Hey Daily Drool Supporters. I need help and I feel stupid for needing help
with something so basic. I am having trouble with excessive barking now
that we have moved to the city. Beauford is 5, Bugsey is 4, and Browyn is
2.5. So these are not puppies. They have lived in the country their whole
lives until we just moved and if anything, they didn't bark enough. They
got so used to the UPS guy, they didn't bark at him at all.

Now we are in the city and they are barking at everything. Not really, it
is just they bark at the kids next door and when we go for walks they bark
at everyone and will not stop.

Any ideas on what to do?

We are slinging tons of drool to Milton and his mama Marsha, that he can
stick around awhile longer and leave peacefully on his own terms when his
time does come.

Also loads of drool to our dear buddy Llewis. We hope the vets can help you
feel better today and not stress out Cnly and Mperson so much.

Also continued drool to Jacquelynn as you deal with your mother's illness.
We are so happy you have Jr there with you. How special for him to have
developed such a bond with your mother.

Lastly, tons of heart healing drool to Tricia on the loss of her beloved
Harrison B. Hound. I was shocked to read the news as I knew him to be
around the same age as my own, and while it can never be easy to lose a
hound, it seems worse when it happens suddenly to a not-so-senior hound.
Know that we are thinking of you during this terrible time.

Hugs and drool to everyone else in need also. We have a ton as today it is
95 outside. Yuck, summer in September? Where is the fall weather?!

You and your Momperson are so very brave.  I allowed Pumpkin to rest at the
Vet for a whole week before I let her come home after da spleen was taken
out of her, but we have lots of stairs and too many nosy hound dogs.  She
no want to eat for a few days either, but after I brought her boiled
chicken and rice to the vet hospital, she started to eat a little bit.

I know you are in the best hands, little man.

Lots of prayers and love, and drool, of course, to you.

I'm terribly sorry for the delay in posting this as I know many of you knew Harrison from his occasional postings. He hadn't posted in quite some time, which is my fault as my work schedule had been unusually crazy. He missed posting and often said that he needed to reach out to the drool for support with his momma's bad behavior, such as feeding abandoned/orphaned baby skunks. He also missed chatting with his girlfriends Miss Tilly and Miss Baloo. Again, Momma's fault as I didn't give him the password to get on to the computer when I was gone at work.

I posted this on Facebook earlier this week and thought I'd share it with you all. You all have been so kind to me with your words of comfort and support. I will be replying to you all in the coming days.

It's very difficult for me to write this, but my sweet Harrison passed away Saturday night (9/6). We had a wonderful day on Saturday. We went for a long walk, he rolled in the grass, I loved on him, he ate his dinner and things started going downhill afterwards. He started acting peculiar and his stomach was extended. I thought he was bloating and took him to the emergency vet. He was running a high fever and by then was in a lot of pain. They gave him medicine for the pain, ran tests and took X-rays. The X-rays revealed he had a large tumor on his spleen that burst. I was shocked that he had cancer. I laid with him and loved on him before making the decision to say goodbye. I was with him when he took his last breath. I'm missing my sweet boy terribly. He was my companion and best friend.

In the too short of time he was with me: 4 years, 5 months and 2 days, we were only apart for 4 of those days. He was my only child as he had so many special needs, but it didn't matter to me, I loved him so much and I'm comforted in knowing that he knew it. I have so many good memories of him.

I picked up his remains last night and brought him home to be with me. They gave me a precious clay round of his gigantic paw that I will always treasure.

You're free my sweet boy, free of pain, free of fears and free to eat as much as your heart desires. I will be with you again one day and we will love, romp, play and be together for eternity.

Sending love and kind thoughts to you all,
Tricia

Hi, it's me Not So Wee Gracie Allen. Now I know EVERYONE knew Pwincess/Grand Marshall/Queen Xandy Bear and ALMOST EVERYONE knew Huggie Bear but it has occurred to me, NSW Gracie Allen, that since I have mainly been a proxy for QXB since she left for the Bridge that you may not know much about me other than the fact that I am irrepressible and I am darned cute. So I have come up with some fun faqs about myself so that you will get to know me better. So here goes. I bet you don't know that when I was just a wee pup I won a prize in a costume contest. What's the big deal about that? Well, for one thing I wasn't wearing a costume. I was wearing this adorable shabby chic sundress with a ruffled panel on the back with pink roses. So why did Wee Gracie Allen win a prize? Wee Gracie Allen won a prize in the costume contest because I was so darned adorable in that sundress they made up a prize and gave it to me. Do you like to win prizes? It just so happens the Not So Wee Gracie Allen
is doing a Woofle to make certain Auntie Wen's Bounders of Senior Houndsabound have enough cookie money to last all year (well, it might go to food and meds and vet bills too). Won't you please help Not So Wee Gracie Allen help the Bounders? All you have to do is vote for Not So Wee Gracie Allen for the SHA calendar contest and you will receive thank you tickets for a chance to win 1 of 6 Woofle gifts. Please go here, have a look and vote, vote, vote for NSW Gracie Allen!    http://xandy.moonfruit.com/

this is Harley of Hawaii stumping for votes too. I want  be a calendar hound in Auntie Wen's calendar and help other senior hounds like myself. I am eleven years young and still a most handsome dude. I'm a littermate of the late Commander Bo. I'm not sure what I can bribe you with to vote for me--hmmm, well, if you vote for me and tell my mom, I'm sure I can get her to write you a limerick about anything you like (grandchild? DH? Some funny episode in your past?).  And if you give me sixty votes (which is a discount from her usual fee), I'll get her to do a quilted pet portrait of your basset--see www.vlbzwick.com  How's that? (But you'll need to let her know, so she can get busy. Aloha to all. Harley of Hawaii

P.S. You may ask why I call myself Harley of Hawaii. I am convinced that Harley may be the most common name for a basset. there are at least four Harley's on the Drool. what do you think? what is the most common name for a basset?

For those interested in participating in the secret pawtner
exchange, sign - ups will be Friday, October 3 - Friday,
October 10th.  Names will go out by the 13th.  Mailing
deadline will be Friday, October 31st.

If we get enough interest, we will have a mini secret
pawtner list with a smaller budget of about $20; regular
secret pawtner budget will be $40 (not including shipping).

Secret pawtner is for the human with treats or other
small items for the hounds. Because of the time of year,
we will have a Fall/Halloween theme - start looking for a
basset item or two along those lines.  Halloween cookies
for the hounds!

Secret pawtner is open to members of the Daily Drool -
if you've never played before and are interested, email
me off list.  We have a great group of regulars who really
enjoy the exchange and look forward to it every year but
always welcome newcomers.  Please do not sign up if
you can't follow through with mailing your package within
the time frame.
