[Dailydrool] Blind Bassets

I have had Blind bassets who were blind from injuries before we got them
into rescue, and we have had dogs who have been in rescue with us for long
periods of time who lost their site due to age. I have Jo Jo Bear now who
has gradually become blind and deaf she is 16 but she does great!! The only
thing that happens is once in a while she bumps into another dog because
unlike the furniture they do not stay in one place. We forget she is blind
and deaf she still goes in and out of the dog door by herself, she knows
where the water bowls are and where the food bowls are and she still begs at
the table, along with the others I hand her things instead of throwing
treats to her because the others will swarm her and she would miss out if I
did not hand them to her but that is the only thing that reminds me she is
blind.
