Many years ago (oh, how I am dating myself), there was a commercial for 
sunscreen that showed a dog--unhappily, not a basset--holding onto a 
little girl's swimsuit bottom with its teeth. I think you may have to do 
this with your mama. Hold on tight so that she cannot go in the water. 
We want to know that she is safe, or we will never hear about your 
exploits!
