Well, Val, if you can explain to me why puppies are preferred over nice 
older dogs, we will both know. For some reason the puppies fly off the 
shelves while nice, well-trained older dogs stay in rescue 
unnecessarily. Hope your newbies find homes soon.

Horton wakes me up early because he wants to potty early in the 
morning--unless he is sleeping with me on the couch, something that 
happens more often than I'd like, since Dex often kicks me out of bed. 
Perhaps Mila needs to be close to you like that, to feel secure?

If Hort sleeps at my feet, I get a nice sleep in. Unhappily he cannot 
sleep in the bed with me because:

1. He is afraid of Drew

2. Dexter takes up all the "free" space

Mila's problem sounds like a security issue to me. If you can solve it, 
I think you'll be back to sleep.
