It sounds like he is either still in pain or just very anxious. I think I
would try using lavender oil to try to calm him. If you don't have lavender
oil, you can get it at Walmart (in the cosmetic/pharmacy section) or at a
health food store. Put 5 drops in your hand, rub your hands together, then
wipe your hands down his ears and under his neck. You can do this several
times with no harm and it will not interfere with his medications. Repeat
as needed.

Hi droolers!
We attend, as a rescue/vendor, the Pookies BowWow rescue Fest yearly here,
in Maitland. FL. Pookies is a small pet boutique and
Is rescue friendly, and started Rescue Fest 7 yrs ago to help local area
rescues. Towards the end of the day, I was holding Esty, one of the
Bounder Beagles, on
my lap, like a baby. She was tired and I was enjoying her being so sweet.
A boy, around 9, came up and was petting her belly, saying how cute she was.
I said thank you, and asked him if he thought she looks just like me. He
looked at her, then at me, then at her, then he asked me to take off my sun
glasses. I did and then he said yes, he could see it in the eyes.
Have to say, that just made my day.

Hi Droolers,
I haven't ever posted on the Drool but I haven't needed to until now... Our
10 yr old male basset just had back surgery on Thursday for a slipped disk.
He's home now as of yesterday afternoon but he won't settle down and rest.
He's taking a lot of pain meds so I'm surprised he is moving around and also
whinging, we're so worried about him. Is this normal behaviour after this
kind of surgery? We're about an hour away from where the operation was done
so we're thinking of taking him back. He was originally released because he
was anxious there and the neurologist thought he'd be more comfortable at
home.
Please shed some light on this!
