I just posted the hounds' drool for Bugsey. As I signed it, I realized I
had not told the Drool about our new foster, Cleo.

Cleo is a very sweet ten-year-old whose human mama got extremely ill and
could not take care of Cleo and her brothers. The hounds came back to
rescue. We are so thankful that people made it possible for her to get
back to Tri-State, though the mom had moved to another state.

When you are whisked out of your home like that and your brothers
disappear to other foster families, it's likely to make you a bit
nervous, and when someone (not her former family, though) obviously was
not so nice to you, it's not surprising that it would take you a while
to feel secure. We are working with Cleo to make her feel at home. She
loves lying on the couch with humans, and her tail never stops wagging.
Cleo has been used to having a fenced backyard she could access whenever
she felt the need. This business of letting the foster mom know when she
needs to go--especially when mom is busy--has been a challenge. This
small and adorable girl would appreciate some drool for her pottying
situation. The mom is sure it's just a matter of getting the hang of it,
but that's harder when you are a bit insecure. Mom is looking for any
advice to help with make the transition a bit easier.

While the next-door neighbor has deemed Cleo "a keeper" (for us, not
him, sadly), we are not sure that's going to happen. What we do know is
that she will be loved for the rest of her life.
