[Dailydrool] Updateon Bugsey

Well, I got a call back from the vet office. The go to guy in Georgia is
only in Atlanta 3 days a month. He spends the rest of the month at 4
different locations in Florida. They are trying to get Bugsey on the
schedule for the end of the month but the receptionist is on vacation, so
they are texting back and forth. This guy is board vertified in dentistry
and pain management.

I talked to Bugsey's breeder because I knew she knew a dentist. She is
totally against doing surgery. She called her dentist friend and he said
that the guy in Georgia is great.

I have been doing research and I am finding two diferent kinds of surgery.
One is extremely easy. They put the dog under anesthesia, pop the joint
back into place and tape the mouth so they can't over open their mouth for
a few weeks.The other surgery is much more complicated and is beyond my
knowledge with two college level anatomy classes. They end up with a
temporary feeding tube with that one.

The thing is, I have had to have a pretty complicated TMJ surgery. I know
the risks and complications. The problem is if you do nothing, there are a
lot of problems. I just have to wait and see exactly which problem Bugsey
has and what it entails. They do the consults in the morning and the
surgeries in the afternoon. So not much time to think it through. Please
send drool that I make the right decision. The days he is in town are June
28-June 30.
