[Dailydrool] Afterwards

In 37 years of marriage we've lost 4 dogs.  The ashes of each of them
reside in unique containers and are on a shelf in the den, each with a
picture that displays their personality.  One dog box has been moved four
times, one moved three, one moved twice and the last passed while we lived
here.  I could not leave them behind so with each move, along came the
boxes.  In one of our moves the mover went to pack the "box" and I screamed
at him to stop.  "Bogz goes with me in the car."  I got a very strange
look.  Never did they travel to a new "home" without one of us.  Often, I
stop and look at their pictures and remember each of them.  We were
fortunate that they all lived long lives, though shorter than we would have
liked.  They are still missed.  I have a wonderful charm bracelet from a
company called "Fine Arf".  They specialize in dog breed charms.  I have a
charm for each of the four to carry with me.  We are currently slaves to
four hounds.  Two are 8 and Two are approaching 5.  One day each of them
will reside on the shelf and I will add a charm of each Basset to remember
them wherever I go.  They will always be in our hearts.
