[Dailydrool] What a night

Merta Lou's story reminded me of a night many years ago when I was  
traveling with three kids and a dog.  I booked a room at the Holiday Inn  (because 
they allowed dogs) only to find out that all the rooms were filled with  
dogs because of a dog show.  Well, it stormed that night and one dog would  
howl and the dogs in each room responded one after the other.  Don't know  how 
I made the ten hour drive the next day with no sleep. Kids and dog  slept in 
the car all the way.

So far Merta Lou has had a hissy fit at  four in the morning because when
she did not respond to repeated entreaties  to get her back in the house and
I turned off the light she stood out there  and howled like a banshee
setting off every dog for about a 10 mile radius  or so it sounded. I
definitely heard the mastiff across the street, muffled  though it was by
her being in the house.

Now, despite having had his  Prozac, Conley has decided that today is the
day that Doc should die and he  is perfectly willing to do the job himself,
menacing Doc every time he sees  him, charging off the bed just because Doc
had the temerity to walk into  the room. (I caught Conley in mid-charge)
(And it is not as though Doc  hasn't kind of asked for this.)

Wish us luck for the rest of the day.  It is only 10 a.m.
