[Dailydrool] Family update - Frankie and Ru

I haven't written in awhile, we welcomed our first child, a son named
Frankie Blaze into our lives on January 19. We've spent the past 3 weeks
getting to know him, and adjusting to a new way of life. Cowboy and Rupert
have adjusted pretty well. Cowboy tries to lick him every chance he gets
and Rupert is slowly warming up, especially since Frankie has meant I'm
home all day and we spend a lot of family time in bed - Rupert's favorite
past time.

About a week after Frankie areived, we noticed a bump on Ru's rearend. I
thought it was a swollen anal gland so we made an appt to have it checked
out. We finally got him in this week and had a  cytology done on that lump
as well ass one I'd found in his groin last week. Turns out he has anal
gland cancer and lymphoma. We are pretty upset by this news, obviously, but
he will be 12 this year so I guess I can't say it's surprising. And he's
had almost 10 years of the spoiled life with us.

So I know many of you have dealt with lymphoma in your hounds. Any advice
is appreciated. Especially if you tried any holistic foods or meds that
seemed to help keep your hound comfortable and happy. That is our sole goal
at this time, keep him happy and then let him go the moment he doesn't seem
happy and comfy.
