[Dailydrool] Rolph and Clara

I am as guilty as everyone else for not posting to the Drool list as often as I should. When I joined I had just adopted a two-year-old basset hound and as a life-long dog owner couldn't understand why this dog just didn't respond the way all my other dogs had......
Here I am, 11 years later, a totally devoted basset slave, and the naughty boy who came home from the pound is snoring at my feet, while his sister sleeps in another room.
Rolph has grown into my heart dog and as his health has failed over the past couple of years I have had to face the reality he won't be with me forever.
Clara, who is six months older than Rolph, enjoyed rude health, until December, except a small heart murmur, when she had a vestibular attack. Although almost completely recovered (thank doG) the vet says she is still not quite well enough to risk having a much-needed dental to remove an abscessed tooth.
However, Tomorrow, Tuesday, Rolph will be going in for a de-scale and polish and while he's under a large and worrying lump is being removed from his leg.
Please keep us all in your thoughts while this goes ahead.
Sally, with Rolph and Clara, UK
